CoBaSi, fingering weight


Using 2.25 mm needles and Red, cast on 33 stitches. Knit 3 rows, then knit 4 rows with White. *Carrying yarn up the side, knit 4 rows with Red, then 4 rows with White. Repeat from * once.

On following right side row, knit 18 with Red and using Blue and the intarsia method, knit 15 to complete row.

Continue stripe sequence as established until 7 red stripes and 6 white stripes have been worked, AT THE SAME TIME work block of blue, twisting the yarns at each color change. Bind off all stitches with the appropriate yarn color.

Using Grey, pick up and knit 24 stitches on one side of flag. Knit 16 rows, then make buttonhole using your preferred method. Knit 8 rows, then bind off all stitches.

Using Grey, pick up and knit 24 stitches on opposite side of flag, omitting buttonhole and final 8 rows. Sew button onto this tab, weave in ends and wear with patriotic and knitterly pride!
