Learn to Knit (3 in-person classes)
This class is in person only. If weather permits we may be outside.
Three 1.5 hour classes
Skills needed:
Absolutely none! Our beginner class is ideal for those completely new to the craft or those who haven’t knitted in many years and need a full refresher.
Skills learned:
- knit stitch
- purl stitch
- cast on
- bind off
- decreasing
- increasing
- common knitting terms
Materials: (order online or our staff is happy to help you select materials)
- Two colors of Worsted weight yarn-avoid dark colors such as black, navy, etc.
We suggest Berroco Ultra Wool, Blue Sky Woolstok, Plymouth Encore, - US #8 (5mm) bamboo needles in straight or circular
- Tapestry needle

When students use materials other than what is suggested we cannot assure your success. Our instructors give careful thought to which yarns and tools are best for each project. We aim to keep classes affordable. Our instructors often devote additional time outside of class time to develop curriculum and offer support. | Instructor Bio: | Celeste learned to knit at school in 3rd grade. She was immediately attached to yarn and her mother worried that she spent too many hours in her room with pointy sticks. Over the years she has made many mistakes and pretty things. Her family calls her "The Great Untangler" for her superpower of removing knots from nearly anything. |
