Intarsia Basics (in-person, outside)

Intarsia is a knitting technique used to create blocks or areas of colour without stranding the yarn behind the knitting.  It can be used to knit images such as animals and other motifs on clothing and any knitted item.
In this class we will be making a mug mat using intarsia techniques, learning to change yarns, avoiding holes and leaving a tidy reverse side of the fabric.
Supplies:
Small amounts of 3 colors of worsted weight yarn  (stash scrap yarn is allowable)
US size 7 needles (follow this link if you need needles)
A pattern is included with class

This class meets in-person, outside at FingerPlay Studio.

Instructor: Sherry James
Instructor Bio: When Sherry was a Brownie she wrote "I like to make things" in her journal. Since then she has been doing just that. Her favourites have been hooking and prodding rugs, dyeing anything she can fit into a pot, spinning and felting. All of these came before knitting. Now she is addicted to knitting! Particularly socks! Her house is rarely tidy and quesadillas are the go to supper. Sherry's wish is to make the world a kinder place by teaching everyone to knit socks!
