Macrame Holiday Garland

Macrame has been around for ages with a history dating back thousands of years and is seeing a bump in popularity every few generations. It is a versatile form of fiber art, where the artist is knotting ropes to create a shape and there are no needles or hooks involved. There are numerous knots used in macrame, but with even just a few basic ones you’ll be able to get started on your first project.

In this beginner level workshop we will make a beaded holiday garland. The students will learn and master 2 knots: 1) the Double Half Hitch and 2) the  Square Knots. With these basic and easy to learn knots the students will be able to complete a full project.

Since this is a beginner level workshop, the students will follow the instructor step by step working on their garland.

Provided macrame supplies that are included in the  supply fee:
- sufficient rope to make the garland
- 7 wooden beads
- T-pins
- Cork mat for flat work
