Step-by-Step Sweater

The Step By Step Sweater is a simple raglan sweater with no complicated techniques, perfect as your first garment knitting project. It has a relaxed fit and two options for the neckline.


Approximately 90 (100, 110, 120) (130, 140, 150) cm, 36 (40, 44, 48) (52, 56, 60) inches finished garment bust measurement after washing and blocking. Note that this includes approximately 4 inches of positive ease. 

Yarn Requirements:
Worsted weight yarn
For the striped version: 
Main Color: 575 (650, 740, 900) (985, 1,066, 1,230) yards or 350 (400, 450, 550) (600, 650, 750) grams
Contrast Color: 246 (246, 328, 328) (250, 250, 300) yards or 150 (150200200) (250250300) grams
For a solid coloured version: 
738 (820, 984, 1,066) (1,230, 1,312, 1,476) yards or 450 (500, 600, 650) (750, 800, 900) grams

Needles & Notions:
Circular Needles
    US 7 (4.5mm) 16 in and 32 in or 40 in circular needles (dependent on size you are knitting) 
    US 9 (5.5mm) 32 in or 40 in circular needles (dependent on size you are knitting)

Waste yarn or stitch holders (2)
Stitch Markers
Tapestry Needle
